Used Audi RS7 FAQs

  • How is the interior of the Audi RS7?

There are several features to entertain the front passenger, including the standard Audi Cockpit display and a heads-up display. There is also a touchscreen panel for controlling the air conditioning. Another feature that quickly catches the eye is the numerous RS-badged logos in the cabin, from the floor mats to the dials on the cockpit display.

  • How many people can the Audi RS7 comfortably seat?

The Audi RS7 comes standard as a 4-seater, with 2 front bucket seats and a 2-person seat configuration in the rear. If you need more room to carry extra passengers or a child, you can opt for a 3-person rear seat, but this is only available with earlier versions of the RS7. There is enough leg and knee room for both front and rear passengers, but a little more headroom would make it more comfortable for taller passengers.

  • Is the Audi RS7 an exciting ride?

Very few GT models take B-roads with the poise of the Audi RS7. The powerful V8 engine ensures you can reach a nice speed to suit your road trip needs. It comes with an adaptive air suspension system as a standard, making it a pretty comfortable cross-country tourer. You can also stiffen the suspension a bit if you want to corner at high speeds without worrying about body roll. Overall, the RS7 provides a riding and driving experience that's on par with several of the most popular high-performance sports cars.

  • How much boot space do you get in the Audi RS7?

The Audi RS7 comes with a 535-litre boot space, which is significantly more than the 460 litres provided by the BMW M6 and the Mercedes-AMG GT. Folding down the rear seats boosts the cargo room to a massive 1,390 litres. All versions of the RS7 come with a powered tailgate, making it very easy to access the boot's load bay.

  • Which models are suitable alternatives to the Audi RS7?

If you need a more practical RS-badged model, the Audi RS6 is well worth checking out. However, if you want an entirely different marque, you could consider either the Porsche Panamera or the Mercedes-AMG E63.

  • Is the Audi RS7 a safe sports car?

The RS7 gets a load of standard safety kits, including 6 airbags, upgraded brakes, adaptive cruise control and electronic stability control. The RS7 itself has never been crash-tested by Euro NCAP, but it inherits the same 5-star safety rating earned by its cousin Audi A6 saloon, which both share the same underpinnings. You can make your RS6 even safer with the optional Assistance Pack, which adds autonomous emergency braking and lane-keep assist to its long list of tech features.

About the Audi RS7

Audi initially intended the RS7 to share the same platform as the Audi A7, but this wasn't the case. The only thing it shares with the standard A7 is the doors, boot lid and roof. Most other essential features of the RS7 are similar to those of the RS6 Avant, such as the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, Quattro 4-wheel drive and the 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The main difference is the massive exhaust tips, which even Audi admits are the largest ever fit on an RS model. The RS-branded supportive driver seats with electric adjustment are also unique to the RS7. The coupling of its powerful engine and a launch control system makes the RS7 capable of reaching 62 mph from rest in under 3.8 seconds. In addition, it has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, which you can increase to 174 mph or 190 mph with optional Dynamic and Dynamic Plus upgrade packages.

What should you expect to find in an Audi RS7?

The Audi RS7 range comes in 3 levels of trim, depending on the production year. The RS7 Sportback is the standard spec, followed by the Carbon Black Edition, the post-2016 Performance range and the flagship Vorsprung. All Audi RS7 trims are well-equipped, with key features on standard trims that include:

  • 20-inch alloy wheels
  • Matrix LED headlights
  • Powered panoramic glass sunroof
  • Powered tailgate
  • RS Super Sport seats
  • Two touchscreen displays
  • 12.3-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster

The later generations of the Audi RS7 come standard with 21-inch alloy wheels and HD Matrix LED headlights on the entry-level Sportback. The Carbon Black pack adds gloss and carbon black exterior styling, 22-inch gloss black alloy wheels, plus premium Alcantara and Nappa leather upholstery. The Audi RS7 Performance gets the powerful 597 bhp engine and other luxurious extras, such as:

  • 21-inch alloy wheels
  • Sports exhaust system
  • Privacy glass
  • Keyless start and entry
  • Titanium grey styling details and carbon fibre inlays

The flagship Vorsprung gets you 22-inch alloy wheels, an upgraded RS Sports suspension with dynamic ride control, adaptive cruise control and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. These features are in addition to its exterior gloss black trims, 360-degree cameras and a head-up display. It has an electronic speed limiter set to 174 mph.
